The Institute of Directors (IoD) June breakfast will focus on empowering boards with the tools they need to navigate the transition to a net-zero future. This timely event will equip directors with a five-step action plan to develop and implement robust emissions reduction strategies. The event will also feature a 10-minute breakout session where attendees can discuss real-world risk examples around their tables.
The breakfast will feature insights from two sustainability experts:
Alex Herschel, Chief Sustainability Officer at Island Energy Group and Vice Chair of the Guernsey Green Forum: Ms Herschel will share valuable insights and a case study example of how boards can establish effective oversight and ensure their companies are well-positioned to capitalise on the opportunities and risks presented by the net zero transition.
Rollo de Sausmarez, Co-Founder and Chief Sustainability Officer of UN1TY and Sustainable Business Initiative Founder & Co-Lead at the Guernsey Chamber of Commerce: Mr de Sausmarez will delve into the five key steps for boards to take, including establishing the need for change, setting direction, embedding sustainable practices, and continuously monitoring progress.
In the five steps to net-zero leadership Rollo will discuss how to establish board-level accountability, developing a compelling case for net-zero targets and how to plan and sustain the hangs required.
The IoD aims to provide its members with valuable resources and practical toolkits to embrace sustainability as a strategic driver of long-term success. This breakfast provides an environment of knowledge sharing and inspiration - empowering members to make a positive impact.
