The IoD Guernsey branch is inviting the local business community to share their views on Guernsey's competitive future in a new survey focused on unlocking economic growth.
Following a series of workshops held in April and May, which brought together over 100 participants from across the public and private sectors, the evidence base for Guernsey's Economic Growth Action Plan is now being established.
The next step is to capture the priorities, concerns, and ambitions of the business community, which is where this survey comes in with one direct question: what should Guernsey prioritise to remain competitive over the next five years?
The questions are deliberately challenging. They cover:
Whether Guernsey is at a genuine inflection point and how much time we actually have
What is most holding us back, from housing and connectivity to AI readiness and government decision-making speed
The hard trade-offs between population, fiscal reform and productivity
Who should own delivery and what would make an Action Plan credible
AI and the barriers to implementing it more effectively
The results will help prioritise the actions that matter most to business leaders and inform the Economic Growth Action Plan, which will be presented at the IoD Guernsey Conference on 18 November 2026 at Beau Sejour.
The survey includes 14 questions and should take approximately 6–8 minutes to complete. Responses are anonymous and will be reported only in aggregate.
