James Lihou

James began his professional career in audit, spending a decade at Deloitte in Guernsey, latterly as an Audit Senior Manager, where he led multi-jurisdictional teams across a range of industries with a focus on Private Equity, Insurance and Non-Financial Services. James acted as a training facilitator and led graduate and experienced-hire recruitment. James was also the Professional Exam Manager and sat on The Guernsey Society of Chartered and Certified Accountants ("GSCCA") Training and Courses sub-committee.

James joined Investec Bank (Channel Islands) Limited ("IBCI") in September 2021 and is currently Central Operations Manager. He began his time at Investec as a technical relationship manager in lending, overseeing a portfolio of complex client relationships, before transitioning to Strategic Lending Projects and then moving into his current central operations role in August 2026.

Sustainability is also of interest to James, who previously chaired an IBCI sustainability forum and sat on an equivalent Investec Bank Plc forum and the Jersey Banking Association Sustainability Committee. James now chairs another IBCI forum related to Third Party and Outsourcing.

James is a Fellow of the ACCA and holds an MSc in Financial Leadership, a First Class BSc in Applied Accounting, a Diploma in Financial Studies and a CMI Level 7 qualification in Strategic Management and Leadership.

Outside of work, James enjoys football, having previously played, coached and refereed. He is a trained mental health first aider and enjoys walking, gardening, DIY and spending time with his family.
